I'm Linxing Yao, a designer and maker based in Chicago, IL. I make quiet things — objects, interfaces, and small pieces of writing — and I'm interested in how the same materials look different depending on the light you put them in.

This site is a notebook as much as a portfolio. The Work section holds finished projects, each ending with a short film. Notes is where I keep ideas, observations, and things I've made in passing.
