On unfinished things
A defence of leaving the edges rough.
Most of what I make is unfinished, and I’ve stopped apologising for it.
A finished object closes a conversation. An unfinished one invites you to keep looking, to imagine where it might have gone. The torn edge on the front page of this site is there for the same reason.
